Siberian scientists develop thermal imager


Specialists at the Institute of Semiconductor Physics of the Russian Academy of Sciences have developed a thermal imager, which can be used to diagnose various diseases and to determine individual characteristics of various organs. Unlike X-rays or ultrasound the thermal imager operates like a camera, recording body’s own heat and providing info on not just an organ’s structural properties, but how it functions.
